Last night, developer Treyarch hosted a live stream event to reveal new information about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. From the live stream, it seems that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is taking a break from the traditional Call of Duty. Huat ah, sounds like got more interesting stuff to play with now.
To make things easy for you, here is a compiled list of what to expect from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
General
- The PC port of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is by Beenox studiots
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be a BattleNet exclusive on the PC
- The PC port is going to have extensive PC support and will also be extensively tested for the PC system
- There will be 4k support on PC, no word for the Xbox One and PS4 Pro yet.
- PC will feature dedicated servers. Song, no more network problems.
Campaign
- No more traditional campaign mode.
- Stories will be weaved into the other modes.
Multiplayer
- The multiplayer is set between Black Ops 2 and 3.
- The Specialist system from Black Ops 3 is returning. Confirmed roles to return are the Seraph, Ruin (with a new grapple gun), Nomad, Battery and Firebreak (who can shut down areas of the map).
- New Specialists include something like “Recon” who can use Vision Pulse, “Crash” who can heal your team, “Torque” who can lay down defensive barricades and Ajax. Looks like got a lot of different skills that can experiment with siol.
- Sliding is returning to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
- Players will have to manually heal up instead of automatically regenerating health.
- There will be a “fog of war” mini-map – which reveals enemies when they are closer to you.
- League Play will be returning.
- There will be short single player missions to introduce Black Ops 4’s Specialists and their backstories.
- Multiplayer will be 5 versus 5.

Battle Royale
- Currently called “Blackout Mode”
- Players will have access to vehicles.
- Going to be the largest map ever made – nearly 1500 times the size of Nuketown. Wah, no wonder they need vehicles.
- The game mode will also have recognizable characters and weapons from across the Black Ops series – such as the Zombies crew and classic Campaign characters such as Mason, Rezov, Woods and Hudson.
Zombies
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will not follow the classic story and have something new.
- There are new playable characters: Scarlet, Diego, Bruno and Shaun.
- It is based around historical events and the enemy will be a historical order.
- There will be 3 maps on day 1.
- First map – appears to be set in Ancient Roman times and is called “IX”
- IX looks to be melee-focused.
- Second map – appears to be set aboard the Titanic and is called “Voyage of Despair”
- “Mob of the Dead” will return from Black Ops 2 as “Blood of the Dead” as the third and final map.
- It stars Black Ops 3’s Primis and appears to be set in between Black Ops 3’s Zetsubou no Shima and Gorod Krovi, when Primis goes to Alcatraz to retrieve the blood vials.
- “Custom Mutations” allow you to change the way the game plays – such as Zombie speeds, zombie health, etc. Time to become a bad ass zombie and kill everyone liao.
- “Black Ops Authenticity System” will allow users to share their best games.
- “Callings” are limited time events in Zombies
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies features difficulty levels, a turorial mode and new mods such as “Zombie Rush”.
