It’s possible that you’ve heard of Dauntless. It’s Phoenix Lab’s upcoming action RPG, hotly debated if Dauntless is a Monster Hunter clone. And it’s easy to see why. Both of the games are takes on the monster hunting genre. However, Dauntless does things in a different style.
Unlike Monster Hunter, Dauntless has a more colourful take on the classic monster hunting formula. The setting is cartoonish science-fantasy with floating islands, airships and magical beasts. Think of the Star Wars animated TV show.
Players are a Slayer, a professional who fights dangerous beasts. You will collect supplies, craft weapons and armor, and work your way through a series of increasingly difficult creatures.
Dauntless has a few weapons which you can choose to wield. There are a variety of swords, hammers and even chain blades. Think of the similar acrobatic style of the dual blades in Monster Hunter. Not bad ah, can pick up different weapons according to your play style. 
Monsters range from a lion with a fire for a mane as well as a rock-covered lizard. And all of these monsters give you loot that will allow you to improve your character.
Dauntless looks to be a fun time for lovers of the monster hunting genre, providing gamers who are sian of Monster Hunter another option to scratch that itch.
