That’s right boys, The Witcher is heading to Netflix. That means we get to see more of Geralt and all his rough charm as he ventures on his monster slaying adventures. I’m freaking hyped for this. Netflix does a pretty good job with its shows so I got a certain level of trust that they won’t mess it up. The Netflix’s The Witcher should be a pretty solid show.
The Witcher is a series of fantasy novels and short stories written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. They focus around Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher who is a monster hunter for hire with supernatural abilities. Got elves, dwarves, werewolves, vampires and more, especially when you venture into Polish folklore. Be afraid. Be very afraid. Some of the monsters no joke one hor.
The series grew popular with its video game adaptation, bringing Geralt to the limelight. Especially so with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt which was released back in 2015. Good thing too, now got show come out all.
Although the series has been adapted into films and a TV show in Poland, now its Netflix’s turn to produce an English language version. The adaptation is being show-run by Luaren Schmidt Hissrich. For those of you who don’t know, she previously wrote episodes of The West Wing, Daredevil and The Defenders. And now she has been tweeting about the show, indicating that it is about to start casting. Just check out all her tweets.
There isn’t much information available so it looks like we will have to wait for more news at a later date.
