It’s been quite some time ever since Rocket League has been out. Who knew that a game about cars playing soccer would be so popular? Rocket League celebrates its 3rd anniversary and developers Psyonix are hosting a big birthday bash event starting next week. Check out the details on what you can win from the event, must kiasu a bit right.
Probably the most exciting part about the anniversary event is the new arena. It’s inspired by the original design back when Rocket League was known as Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle Cars. That’s a si bei long name sia. The arena is called The Throwback and features goals placed much further forward and a little lower to the ground. That scoring a goal much tougher and a lot of behind-the-goal scrambling. The map also features a slightly lighter ball so that means its more time for aerial nonsense.
Being an anniversary event, that means more cosmetics up for grabs. Got no event passes, keys, crates, whatever nonsense to worry about. Heng la. Just play matches, collect the birthday bash currency and trade them in for party gear to deck out your tiny rocket car. If you want to gamble, you can trade balloons for Golden Eggs, which have even more random event prizes.
You can check out some of the available prizes in Psyonix’s official announcement page. The anniversary starts on 9 July 10.00 am PDT (10 July 1.00 am SGT) and ends on 23 July 5.00 pm PDT (8.00 am SGT). Make sure you cash in the rewards for the anniversary because any left over birthday currency will be removed from the game when the event ends.
