When I first heard of Detective Pikachu, I was extremely skeptical. Who on earth okayed this? And wa lao, another Pikachu movie? Please no. But then I watched the trailer. And I was won over.
Detective Pikachu is set in a semi-futuristic world where people and Pokémon live together. But wait. I haven’t mentioned the most epic thing yet. This isn’t some cartoon movie. That’s right. It’s life action. That means Pikachu looks like this.
Pretty cute hor? To top things off, Pikachu is being voiced by Ryan Reynolds. That’s right. Deadpool is voicing Pikachu. You would had thought that a cutesy voice would suit Pikachu better but Reynold’s voice somehow gives Pikachu a hilarity that just makes the casting choice work.
The movie’s premise is simple. Boy meets Pikachu. Pikachu is a great detective. Boy and Pikachu set out to solve mystery. Did I mention that the trailer shows other realistic Pokémon too? Just check out this Jigglypuff.
You can bet that I’m going to be watching this movie when it comes out. It’s confirm plus chop sure funny one. The movie is coming out next year, 10th May 2019. Pika pika.
