It looks like PlayStation is skipping E3 2019. A big thing considering that PlayStation has always showcased its new games and tech ever since E3 began 24 years ago. Not to mention, PlayStation is one of the gaming giants out there.
This news was buried inside the Entertainment Software Association’s announcement of the 2019 show that mentioned Nintendo and Microsoft. Sony confirmed their absence to Variety stating that:
As the industry evolves, Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to look for inventive opportunities to engage the community. PlayStation fans mean the world to us and we always want to innovate, think differently and experiment with new ways to delight gamers. As a result, we have decided not to participate in E3 in 2019. We are exploring new and familiar ways to engage our community in 2019 and can’t wait to share our plans with you.
This wasn’t the only PlayStation event canceled by the company in recent times. In September, this year’s PlayStation Experience wasn’t hosted, citing a lack of games to show.
Siao liao, what’s going on? This is slightly worrying regarding the PlayStation 4 and potential lack of upcoming titles. Hopefully Sony doesn’t fall flat and gathers up some steam for 2019.
