MyRepublic launches the MyRepublic GAMER Arena, an esports initiative for aspiring esports gamers. This is done to support and encourage the next generation of professional gamers in Singapore. Hopeful gaming rising stars pay attention ah.
The MyRepublic GAMER Arena is a “rookie leauge” that provides competitive gamers the chance to have accessible, free-to-participate, regularly-scheduled tournaments to hone their skills and win prizes. The tournament also provides participants with the chance to meet other fellow gamers and to show off their skills to attract professional teams or brands who might be recruiting.
“Esports isn’t just about flashy stadiums or big prizes,” said Shivendra Singh, Chief Marketing Officer of MyRepublic. “Every serious esports player has to start somewhere but it can be hard to see yourself on the pro gamer big stage without a local ecosystem that provides enough support or exposure.”
The MyRepublic GAMER Arena is divided into 4 seasons, with each season lasting three months. The first Season runs from January to March 2019, consisting of 6 tournaments featuring Dota 2, SOULCALIBUR™ VI, PLAYERUNKNOWN’s BATTLEGROUNDS and Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4. Players can join as many tournaments as they choose, with over S$10,000 worth of cash and prizes to be won in Season 1.
Participants can sign up for Season 1, here. More information on future Seasons will be released at a later date. This is great news for the esports scene in Singapore. With the chance to perform and a place for gamers to try and go professional, hopefully the esports scene in Singapore will show great growth soon. Good job la MyRepublic.
