Yup. The upcoming remake of Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare will not have the zombies mode. However according to Campaign gameplay director Jacob Minkoff said in a recent interview, they might reintroduce the single campaign and add in some new co-op features. I for one am totally for this cos I am actually quite sick and tired of zombies. Modern Warfare has a fantastic story in the campaign mode and if they(Infinity Ward) are going to change it up a bit, I sure do hope it is nothing too drastic that will affect the story.
“Because they focus on more of the stylized, graphic novel, super-hero experience, they can have the much more ‘out there’ different types of gameplay in their games. But for us, we’re trying to create an authentic, realistic feeling world. We don’t have the flexibility to do something like put zombies in the game.” – Minkoff told PlayStation Lifestyle about why he can’t add in zombies mode.
Yes, the zombies mode in other Call of Duty games have always been fun and playing co-op as well. The good thing is the new Modern Warfare will have co-op gameplay but so far Infinity Ward has been hush about it so far.
“What I will tell you is that the single-player storyline goes directly into the co-op storyline. No stop. The events just continue. So those elements–gameplay, progression, story, they just continue throughout everything that we have on the disc or digital download,” – Jacob Minkoff
I’m glad that there is no Zombies mode in the new Modern Warfare as usually zombies mode are on the Black Ops series. However will the game will have its own battle royale mode like Black Ops 4? We shall see.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare will be out on 25th October on PlayStation 4, X box One and PC.
