It has been a while since I played Football Manager and this Football Manager 2026 will launch worldwide on November 4, 2025. I’m pretty sure FM fans are gonna love this!
Just like the previous FM games, it takes a while to set up your role before you can start your first match. That includes press conferences, budget meetings, tactical overviews and scouting department overhauls before the first ball is kicked on the squad’s return to pre-season training. But for for Football Manager 26, there is a new interface and new engine from Sports Interactive which is a whole new level. It may be a good thing or a bad thing for FM fans but I think it’s an exciting change.
One of the coolest thing is you can create your own manager character from head to toe. I tried my level best make the manager look like me. Also your attributes as a manager is no longer a number but is not rated as average,good or outstanding.
You can now pick three different coaching styles. It can range as Attacking, Defensive, Developer, Energetic, Entertainer, Pragmatist, Specialist, Systems Builder, and Tactician and three mental styles from six choices(Driven, Disciplined, Resilient, Convincing, Inspirational, Accomplished). These will determine your ratings for individual coaching attributes. Think of it as a classic RPG game.
I decided to go local, even though I dont really watch Singaporean football. I chose Hougang United cos there was no teams in Jurong (sad).
The FM26 interface is like a windows like system and its quite easy to navigate. And make sure you make you decisions correctly, cos if you make a mistake, there is no back button for it. At halftime for my team talk I made a mistake saying to the team that I am disappointed with them even though they are 2-0 up. And I couldnt reverse that. Luckily they scored a third goal.
I really liked the portal which is like your email inbox. But the best thing about FM26 is the matches. They really look good! From the 2d viewer to the highlights if you wanna quicken the match. They look fantastic!
Football Manager 26 will be available on 4th November 2025. The game will be launched on Nintendo Switch digitally a month later, on December 4, 2025.
