Cowboy 3030, the roguelite third-person shooter from husband-and-wife developer Soy Boy Games, shows up to the standoff on PC via Steam as Early Access today!
Take control of a motley crew of bounty hunters drawn to the gang-infested Hololasso County and dole out justice. These once-idyllic, peaceful lands of the future Wild West now face ruin at the hands, claws, and worse of the Nebularos gang of alien miscreants. Only the intervention of a sharpshooter – or four – stands a chance at driving them out.
Lay waste to the Nebularos’ rank-and-file with Keri’s Precision Rifle sniping, Calix’s literally stunning Flashbang, or Teri’s devastating Spread Projector-assisted shotgun. Since beaten bandits need no gear, their stockpiles of ill-obtained weapons found at bandit camps nicely round out any cowboy’s arsenal to defeat far more dangerous ringleaders down that dusty road.
Stop by the shops operated by surviving locals to level up and tweak the progression grid unique to each run. Grab some compadres to cover the blind spots too – only a greenhorn drops into this town expecting fair fights at high noon. Deputize up to three others in four-gunner online co-op to show the Nebularos they ain’t the only gang to fear ‘round these parts.
Eventually, every six-shooter runs into the same problem – falling short on that seventh shot, but the battle for Hololasso rages on. Reload with a randomly generated progression grid and try again, unlocking ever-deadlier options and new ways to play.
“With Cowboy 3030, we wanted to capture those golden moments of overcoming epic fights – especially with friends,” said Soy Boy Games co-founder George Chiu. “We hope that the Cowboy 3030 community gets to experience that elation over and over again throughout Early Access and beyond!”
