Finally lah, I can play Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 4. I remember playing this game just out of chance back in 2005 on PlayStation 2 back then. It’s really one of the most memorable and fantastic games from Sony Interactive Entertainment. Watching the remake trailer really brought me a lot of memories. The amazing boss fights against the Colossi were damn fun and challenging. You don’t need to talk cock with any other characters or fight any other enemies. All you need to do is figure out how to kill all 16 Colossi and these guys are freaking huge and intimidating.
Another really cool thing about Shadow of the Colossus is the soundtrack. Composed by Kow Otani whose previous works include Sky Odyssey and Philosoma , was widely praised. And the best part is, you only get to hear the epic music during the boss fights and the cut scenes.
Bluepoint Games who did the earlier PlayStation 3 remaster will be the guys developing the PlayStation 4 remaster as well. They pretty much remade all the game’s assets but kept the same original gameplay. There is also a new control scheme as well.
Check out the trailer and be awed.
Shadow of the Colossus is one of those games that have won several awards and has been an inspiration to many gaming developers. PlayStation Official Magazine voted it the 8th greatest PlayStation ever released. It was the second best game PlayStation 2 game of all time behind God of War 2. In 2015, on USgamer’s “15 Best Games since 2000”, it was 4th. These are just some of the accolades achieved by Shadow of the Colossus. Absolutely amazing lah.
So long time fans, brace yourself. Come 6th February, it’s time to relive this fantastic game.
