Wah Soulcalibur 6 will be out and it will come with new fighting styles and all. Power lah! I remember playing the first Soulcalibur on PlayStation 1 like probably around the late nineties. I used to play it with my little brother and we both always tried to throw each other off the stage (Ring Out), instead of fighting properly. It’s damn annoying but funny as hell. Now fast forward to 2018 and Bandai Namco will be releasing Soulcalibur 6 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC later this year.
Now from the gameplay video, you can see 6 characters fighting. There’s a new dude called Grøh and he is an assassin. Fella fights with a double ended sword that he can split it into two swords which is pretty cool. The old classic favorites like Kilik, Xianghua, Mitsurugi, Sophitia and of course Nightmare, who has the infamous Soul Edge sword. The timeline is in the early years so that’s why some of the characters look young and all.
Check out the gameplay video.
Soulcalibur is all about weapons, timing and how you move your character. From the video, you can see there’s a new thing called Reverse Edge. Which is basically “Scissors, Paper, Stone”. Hahaha. Awesome lah. You can do this at any time while in a fight and there is no limit. Once you initiate it, there will be a short video. Then you have to choose one attack which may or may not be countered by your opponent. If both choose the same attack, you will go to a second round. And at the third round, whoever started the Reverse Edge lays some damage to the other. I’m not sure if the Reverse Edge can be turned off for those who just want to play the old school Soulcalibur way because the game is still in development.
Soulcalibur 6 will run on Unreal Engine 4 and Motohiro Okubo will be producing the game.
