Dota 2’s Epicenter XL concluded yesterday, with PSG.LGD emerging as the champions. Their prize was $500,000 USD ($665,975 SGD) and siao liao, an Infinity Gauntlet sia!
PSG.LGD’s journey through Epicenter XL was no joke. They began the Major by clawing their way through the China qualifiers. PSG.LGD beat 7 other teams such as EHOME and Vici Gaming to secure their rights to participate in the playoffs. Remaining undefeated throughout the playoffs, PSG.LGD eventually faced off against Team Liquid in a best-of-5 Grand Finals.
PSG.LGD played spectacularly against Team Liquid. In particular, Wang “Ame” Chunyu styled on Team Liquid during the first match. Playing as Morphling, Ame fended off Team Liquid single-handed. Rushing in to defend PSG.LGD’s top tier three tower, Ame secured a quad kill for his team. Baik la Ame!
That wasn’t to say Team Liquid was a slouch either. Despite losing to PSG.LGD during the first match, Team Liquid found victory against PSG.LGD in the second match. Amer “Miracle” Al-Barkawi pulled off stunning Invoker plays, killing off the entire PSG.LGD and securing a rampage.
Unfortunately for Team Liquid, PSG.LGD subsequently went on to win the next two matches, securing the overall win for their team.
Here is FY holding onto the Infinity Gauntlet. Don’t snap your fingers ar FY!
