Shape of the World launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam on 5th June 2018. Shape of the World is definitely not your regular game. For one, the game supposedly lasts only 1 to 3 hours long. There is no puzzle, no explicit story. The game focuses on the immersion, exploration and contemplation of the player. Players wander a rich and colorful world that grows as they move around in it. Looks like the perfect lepak game.
First-person explorer
Players can wander the surreal environments. You can travel at your own pace. There is no timer or danger that preventing you from taking your time and enjoying the journey. As you walk around, a path will appear in-front of you, allowing you to move ahead. It’s really free to roam around sia.
Organic and mysterious ecosystem
Players can interact with animals, flora and monoliths. Each action will alter the world you discover in unexpected ways. Each path you journey on will remain intriguing and fun. Animals and plants also appear in all sorts of different sizes, from small cute animals to huge sky whales. We definitely aren’t on Earth anymore sia.
Procedural population
The forest only appears when you get close. Each time it appears, it regrows in a new way each time you walk by. The game features a graphically compelling procedural generated environment that constantly changes. It’ll be interesting to see if this random generation turns out well. It always sounds good in theory hor?
Dynamic soundtrack
The audio shifts along with the visuals, providing an aural experience to match the psychedelic journey and amplify the players’ immersion. If there is one thing that is important to the game is its background music. A good music score can turn a great game into a superb one. Just listen to Nier: Automata.
