Shenmue III delayed for a second time sia. It looks like fans will have to wait for another year to play the game. Shenmue III successfully launched on Kickstarter with 69,320 backers pledging $6,333,295 (S$8,476,482) to bring the game to life. The game’s first initial release date was in December 2017. However, the game was subsequently pushed back to the second-half of 2018. The delay to 2019 would be the game’s second release date delay.
Publisher Deep Silver had announced the delay today.
The extra time will be used to polish the quality of the game even further, to the high standards it deserves and release the product in the best possible time frame.
Also, Yu Suzuki, Director and Producer of Shenmue III made a Kickstarter update
To all of our backers, we are very sorry for the delay. After much discussion with our partners, Deep Silver, we have concluded that extending the release will allow us to deliver Shenmue III at its best. We promise to use this time to improve the quality of Shenmue III. We cannot thank you enough for your enduring support
Confirm got a lot of people not happy now. But on the bright side, at least the development team isn’t trying to release a game with low standards. Shenmue III is the second sequel to what was one of the most expensive games ever made and has a strong fanbase. Anything but the best would be a disappointment. If can wait 17 years already can wait one more hor?
