Ubisoft has announced that Skull & Bones is delayed to the company’s 2019-2020 fiscal year. Skull & Bones was to be released sometime in the last six months of this year.
According to Ubisoft’s earnings report,
In line with previous practices and in view of the acceleration of our digital transformation, growth in back-catalog sales and excellent momentum of recent releases, Ubisoft has decided to give itself more time to develop Skull & Bones to offer players an even more engaging experience.
Okay lah, once again, more time spent on production isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Better than releasing a bad game for us to play mah.
Skull & Bones is an open-world pirate adventure announced by Ubisoft at E3 2017. It featured tactical naval combat with single and multiplayer modes where players face off 5 versus 5. Players can use a variety of ships to subdue and board other vessels where the fights end with hand-to-hand combat. Sounds quite cool ah, being able to be a pirate. It would be interesting if Ubisoft also allowed normal trade ships for players who just want to be a businessman.
Ubisoft Singapore is the developer of Skull & Bones, having worked on Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, which featured pirate-themed nautical combat. Swee sia, looking forward to playing this game when it finally comes out. Skull & Bones was announced for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.
