The all-new Razer Blade has just been released. The latest Razer Blade is a laptop meant for gamers and its tagline reflects that goal.
Ultra Fast. Ultra Small. Ultra Powerful.
Adopting the same style as the other Razer laptops, the Razer Blade looks sleek and ready to chew up any games in its way. Looks si bei bad ass sia. Here are some of the specs of the Razer Blade.
Display
The Razer Blade boasts 144hz refresh rate. That means less chances of screen tearing and no longer being stuck at 60 fps when playing games. Action is going to be smooth and fluid as you play your first-person shooter games. Cannot complain it’s the laptop problem liao.
The screen of the Razer Blade is 15.6 inches long. That’s the smallest size of most gaming laptops out there so nothing too fancy in that department. Larger gaming laptops tend to have screens at 17.3 inches or 18.4 inches.
There is 4k touch display. This one damn impressive leh. Admittedly, you would have to be some kind of perfectionist to look for 4k resolution but at least the choice is there. Do note that Razer has mentioned that the 4k touch display option is coming soon and for select regions only.
Size
As Razer boasts, the Razer Blade is the smallest 15.6 inch gaming laptop. Not only is it small, but its thin as well, making the Razer Blade extremely mobile for gamers on the go. No need break your back carrying your bad ass laptop to work or to class liao.
The thickness of the Razer Blade stands at 1.67 centimeters and the Razer Blade weights around 2 kilograms. In comparison, the ASUS ROG Strix GL503 has a thickness of 2.3 centimeters and weighs 2.6 kilograms. The 0.6 kilograms may seem like nothing but I own a ASUS ROG Strix and I say any weight off the laptop is better than none. Carrying around a heavy laptop all day is no joke one ar.
Processor and Graphic Card
As with most gaming laptops, the Razer Blade uses both an Intel Core processor coupled with an Nvidia Graphic Card. Specifically, the Razer Blade uses an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8705H 6 core processor. Its graphic card is the GeForce GTX 1070.
Okay la, not bad already got GTX 1070. The GTX 1070 is NVIDIA’s attempt at targeting the 1440p market so the card fits what the Razer Blade expects to deliver. It’s no 1080 but the 1070 will do. Unsure about what the 1070 is all about? Check out this Reddit megathread of all its reviews.
Cooling System
Okay, the cooling system is important. As gamers all know, when you start to play, your laptop sure heat up like mad one. Hotter than Singapore sometimes. Thankfully, the Razer Blade sports an innovative vapor chamber cooling system. This is different from the standard heat pipe methods used in most gaming laptops.
- There are custom 44 blade fans for high air flow and low noise
- Graphite-based,server grade thermal materials to deliver a precise control of heat and reliability
- The cooling system covers a large surface area including the CPU, GPU and other heat-generating components
- Sports a black finish to reduce heat transfer to laptop chassis.
- Nanoparticle thermal blockers to reduce hot spots.
- Integrated heat exchangers with 68 fins just 0.1 mm thin for maximum heat dissipation.
Externals
If gamers so wish, the Razer Blade allows gamers to directly connect up to 3 external displays through Thunderbolt 3, Mini DisplayPort, and HDMI. This is done through the use of three USB 3.1 ports. This is crucial for gamers who wish to stream their game-play thanks to the multiple screen set up. Less messy ah. Can just plug in and set up directly to your Razer Blade.
