RuneScape. Just the name triggers nostalgic memories sia. Sadly, it looks like some parts of RuneScape will remain as memories. Jagex has announced RuneScape Classic closing down date to be on 6th August. RuneScape Classic is the first version of RuneScape, released in 2001. Over the years, RuneScape has evolved, leaving RuneScape Classic behind. As a result, many bugs and problems have accumulated in the game.
Jagex has cited that the main reason for the shutdown is that their community management tools have evolved past RuneScape Classic. Bots in the game are now a big problem and Jagex lacks the manpower to control community safety and standards on the legacy server. Understandable ah, it’s been 17 years already sia.
But eh, don’t worry, this doesn’t mean that RuneScape is dead yet. After all, it’s only RuneScape Classic closing down. There are still different version of RuneScape available such as RuneScape 3 or RuneScape Old School.
Here are is two hours nostalgic RuneScape music to listen to as we bid farewell to an old game.
