Stardew Valley got its multiplayer option back roughly a month ago. Although the multiplayer is still in beta, players had the option of online co-op multiplayer with their friends. Currently the multiplayer beta supports up to four players. However, this limit has been broken thanks to two Stardew Valley mods. Each offers a slightly different version of mass farming. Ho seh liao, time to jio more friends and farm more vegetables.
Ultiplayer Mod
The first mod is the Ultiplayer mod by Platonymous. The mod allows the host to invite as many friends as they want. However, “Farmhands don’t get a cabin, unless there happens to be a free cabin”.
Unlimited Players Mod
The second mod is the Unlimited Players mod by Armitxes. The mod removes Stardew Valley‘s hard cap on multiplayer farmers and cabins. Downside is that it requires you to build a cabin for each other player. So can be abit sian for the host, need to keep building cabins.
Armitxes does note that they might remove the cabin requirement. Or at least allow players to build a lot at once. Once that update is up, can mass build and lepak liao.
Regardless of which mod you pick, players need the SMAPI mod loader to play. No mod loader, no mod can be used. This part is the most important hor. Also, only the host needs to set up the mod.
These mods aren’t without drawbacks either. Ultiplayer warns that farms could get busted and wiped. On a whole, Stardew Valley‘s multiplayer is still a work in progress. But okay la, quite good effort put into it already sia. Once got more time for further updates, multiplayer will be great to play.
