If you love games, chances are that you’ve also wanted to collect some sweet looking gaming apparel. Nothing is better than rocking some low key good looking gaming fashion. To help satisfy your craving for sweet gaming fashion, here’s a list of some of the gaming sneaker collaborations that have taken place over the years. Xbox x Air Jordan 1 Mid
These shoes look hella dope. A definite grab for any Xbox fan. The shoe features a green/black upper constructed of premium suede, with special Xbox accents via co-branded insoles. There are four different lace options – two different shades of green, a black, and a grey. Most importantly, there is a green glow in the dark outsole so that everyone can appreciate your sneakers even at night.
Sony PlayStation x Nike Air Force 1
If Xbox did it, you can bet that Sony PlayStation had done it too. It’s no surprise that Sony PlayStation has its own sneaker collaboration as well. The PlayStation Air Force 1’s upper is composed of smooth black leather on the midfoot with glossy black patent leather on the heel. There’s a large jelly swoosh with “sacred symbols” that shout out to the PlayStation’s buttons and startup menu colours. There’s more PlayStation detailing on the heel as well as the insole.
Nike PG-2 “PlayStation”
Back in February 2018, PlayStation teamed up with Paul George to present a limited edition PlayStation version of the Nike PG-2. The PlayStation PG-2 sports some cool features. The tongues of the shoe illuminate and pulsate blue, emulating the turning on of the PlayStation console. The back heel of the left shoe even has a unique barcode that contains a PSN voucher code. Not only does it look so sweet, got loot available also sia.
SEGA x Puma RS-O “Sonic”
Sony PlayStation and Xbox aren’t the only one cornering the gaming sneaker market. SEGA entered the fray as well, with a neat collaboration with Puma. The sneaker takes its inspiration from the blue hedgehog, sporting a blue suede to match Sonic’s fur. There are even gold rings on the laces and around the shoes as well to fit the Sonic aesthetic.
Nintendo x Vans
Back in 2016, Nintendo did a collaboration with Vans, presenting a fully-stocked sneaker collection. The picture above is just one sneaker from the collection. The sneaker collection features Nintendo characters such as Mario, Luigi, the Princess and Donkey Kong, all with their own Van models.
Evangelion x New Balance
Okay la, I know this isn’t gaming per say. But cut me some slack. These sneakers look too good to not add them to the list. These sneakers came out in 2017, built with a synthetic mesh upper and flexible heel tab making for an easy slip-on. More importantly, the sneaker sports a very subtle scheme, perfect for wearing while heading out.
FILA x Pokemon
This is the first series of FILA x Pokemon collaboration. The design is inspired from FILA’s other Korea-exclusive FILA Classic Kick B sneakers. All of these sneakers are embroidered with Pokemon at the back side of the converse styled sneakers. They also come in a cute Pokeball custom shoebox and an embroidered Pokemon Patch.
Adidas x Dragon Ball Z
Adidas and Dragon Ball Z have worked together to create the Adidas x Dragon Ball Z collection featuring eight different shoes based on the protagonists and antagonists of the Dragon Ball franchise. Each shoe release also came with an action figure of the corresponding character. Shiok sia.
Nike x Splatoon 2
Nike announced their collaboration with Splatoon 2. Exclusive to Japan’s Splatoon 2 Splatfest, the sneakers being showcased are the Nike Air Max 270 and the Nike Air Max 97.
Vans x Street Fighter
Given Street Fighter‘s undisputed popularity, it’s no surprise that the game would have its own sneaker collaboration as well. Decked out in a stylish black, the sneakers have a pattern featuring fan favourite characters from the franchise in their 8-bit style pixel art design. Simply retro.
