Halo fans, take note. There’s a new shooter game in town and it’s Halo Fireteam Raven! First in Asia baby! Yeah! From 343 Industries and arcade developers Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix, We had the chance to play the game at Timezone Vivo City which is currently the ONLY place that has the arcade game in Singapore. It has been a long time since I stepped into an arcade let alone play a game there. So this was definitely a blast from the past.
For some reason, playing Halo Fireteam Raven reminded me of an old arcade shooter game called Aliens 3. This however has way much better graphics, you get to sit in a pod kinda thing and bigger guns. Game play is pretty simple. You shoot bad guys with three other players with big-ass guns on two 65 inch 4K screens linked together! The guns look nice with LED strips that change color whenever you pull the trigger.The graphics are damn shiok, the frame rate is smooth and the action is non stop lah.
My only gripe is the reload button. I feel that the Reload button placed on the center of the gun is a little hard to reach and a little inconvenient for the player especially when you need to react fast. However there are some parts that has infinite ammo so you can just pew-pew-pew all the way. I do wish there were boss fights though. That could have been really interesting to play with your friends.
