Having Shiny Pokémon is the bomb, you feel like you’re top of the world. The absolute best that ever was. Previously, Shiny Pokémon was a matter of RNG, praying and hoping you run into them. But now, Pokémon: Let’s Go! makes shiny hunting easier with both an in-game item and a proven method to help gamers capture shinies.
How to hunt shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Let’s Go!
Chain catch combos
By catching several of the same species of Pokémon, catch combos are racked up. As the chain increases, so do the chances of fining a shiny Pokémon. Once you hit the maximum combo of 31, there’s now a one in 341 chance of running into a shiny Pokémon. Do note that the combo will reset if you exit to the home menu, catch a different, non-shiny monster or a Pokémon runs from the fight.
From then, just wait. Lim some kopi because you need to either catch the same Pokémon over and over again or walk around until you bump into it. One in 341 chance seems pretty big but it’s still better than doing it without chaining catch combos, where the possibility is one in 4,096.
Have every Pokémon in the Kanto Region Pokédex
To bring the possibility down even further, you need to have every Pokémon in the Kanto region Pokédex. After capturing all 151, head to Celadon City. Visit the Game Freak offices. The game director inside will hand over a Shiny Charm. This item will bring the number down from one in 4,096 to one in 1,365. A huge difference still.
Doing both methods together will increase your chances of finding a shiny Pokémon. One out of 293 Pokémon could be a shiny. If you add a Lure, that’s the best probability, dropping to one in 273.
So head out, get catching those shinies. It’s a bit of a grind, but better than nothing hor? At least got easier methods to make life easier liao.
