Earlier last month, we talked about how the next Dragon Age is about to be announced at The Game Awards 2018. However, it looks like the game is not likely to be released until 2021, according to a VentureBeat report.
The website refers to “sources familiar with the studio” who claim that the next Dragon Age game is at least three years away. While that could change, it looks like that is BioWare’s current expectation. A name for the game has yet to be decided but that could change before The Game Awards 2018 happens.
This Dragon Age project has reportedly been in stasis for over a year, pushed aside by publisher Electronic Arts in favour of focusing on Anthem. Sian sia. The Dragon Age project was not fitting EA’s live services business model, so EA had thrown out most of the pre-production work done on the new Dragon Age project. It is thanks to the passion of BioWare executive producer Mark Darrah and Hudson for the Dragon Age series that sees Dragon Age surviving. Good job lah. Honestly, who is looking forward to playing Anthem over a new Dragon Age?
To catch the announcement about the next Dragon Age game, The Game Awards 2018 is scheduled to be broadcasted live on 7th December, 10.30 am SGT. You can catch the show on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Mixer, Steam TV, PlayStation 4, Xbox Live, IGN, GameSpot, Polygon, MLG and Caffeine.tv.
