The train wreck that is the Fallout: 76 disaster isn’t over yet. First there was the issue of the failure in delivering a promised product. What happened here was that the Fallout: 76 Power Armor Edition that costs S$273.90, included a canvas bag. A really nice one too. However, Bethesda had swapped the canvas bag promised to gamers who ordered the Power Armor Edition with a crappy nylon version. This was what was promised, but look at what was delivered instead.
Understandably, people were upset. Si bei upset. This resulted in two weeks of complaints and threats of legal action. But Bethesda had finally guaranteed that they would replace all nylon bags with canvas bags. Okay hor, at least got fix.
But now another disaster has occurred. As of 5 December 2018, a massive breach of data has occurred, allowing users to see all support tickets, worth dozens of pages, for Bethesda over the returns or requests related to the Power Armor Edition of the game. Leaked information included addresses, banking information and personal details. Siao liao, from one disaster to another.
If you’ve been affected, there is a reddit thread up with helpful information with regards to what to do in response to your data being exposed. It looks like Bethesda can’t quite catch a break.
