I have never played any games from FromSoftware. Bloodbourne or any of the Dark Souls series. Those games induces high blood pressure for me and I will end up breaking a few controllers. Hence, that is why I chose not to play them. but when I first watched the trailer of Sekrio, I was intrigued and thought to myself, ” This doesn’t look that hard. Maybe can give it a go lah.” Boy, was I wrong.
Within the first minutes of the game, you can confirm feel the vibe of Dark Souls and Bloodborne series but with more stealth based. It’s more focused and intriguing, despite the insane difficulty. The gameplay is smooth and the scenery and graphics are mesmerizing. Sekiro truly is a beautiful game. The storyline keeps you wanting to find out more and not give up. So you keep trying. It really takes a lot of patience and skill to master the game.
Timing is everything when it comes to lock-on combat of strikes and slashes. And when you get hit, it usually a large chunk of your health so pacing yourself with health potions are important as well. The mini bosses were hard and the big bosses are insane. They are bigger than you and terrifying as well but there is a huge sense of satisfaction when you conquer a big boss fight.
All in all Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a wonderful game and will keep you entertained and pissed for hours. if you like Dark Souls or Bloodbourne, you are going to love this.
Sekiro: Shadows Die twice is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox one and PC.
