The Monster Hunter World: Iceborne media tour was held at Parkroyal at Pickering and organized by SoftSource yesterday and we learnt quite a bit on what is in store for the upcoming expansion. Explaining to us what are things to come were Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Producer, Mr Ryozo Tsujimoto and Art Director, Mr Kaname Fujioka.
From the looks of it, the expansion pretty much looks like a brand new game as there are quite a bit of changes and new monsters as well. First off, you have a new base called Seliana as the HQ in Hoarfrost Reach. There are quite a number of facilities and features which are as good as those of Astera. Plus the place looks great visually as well. One of the new facility is called The Steamworks. This is a place where you burn fuel to create steam which is used to power the whole of Seliana. Every time you complete a quest, fuel accumulates. You can also get fuel by exchanging with items and ore materials. At the Gathering Hub, you can go to other facilities like the Resource Center, canteen, steam bath, Smithy, hot springs and foot bath as well. There are mini games for you to get items. There is also a Camera view mode where you can take pics and you can customize your own place.
They also showed us 3 new monsters as well. Fulgar Anjanath (Indian fella ah?), Ebony Odogaron and Glavenus whose tail is pretty much his weapon. Mr Kaname Fujioka showed us a brief gameplay of Seliana and fighting Glavenus. I have to admit it really looked fun taking on Glavenus. As you keep attacking him, his tail would get hotter and if you get hit by his tail when its glowing, the damage inflicted on you is pretty brutal so you have to be wary of that.

Iceborne will be released on 6th September this year. The Master Edition which has the digital and physical versions will have the main game and the expansion which is perfect for newcomers. So thank you Capcom & SoftSource for the invitation to this event. It was awesome. Looking forward to the 6th!
