Tales of Arise is the next chapter in the long running “Tales of” franchise which has been running for 25 years. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC sometime next year.
Cut scenes this time utilizes watercolor CG style which makes the background look beautiful. You will discover when playing Tales of Arise that the enemies are more realistic and menacing than ever before. One of the prominent features of this series even though it is a RPG game, is that it focuses on battles and make them more vivid, breath taking and exciting.
Here’s some information about our two heroes. Alphen who is Dahnan, used to be a slave. He doesn’t feel pain and has no memory. Voice over for Alphen was done by Takuya Sato. Shionne who is Renan, is cursed with thorns that causes pain to anyone who touches her. She wants to join the fight against Rena and help Alphen rebel against Rena and her Renan compatriots. Voice over for Shionne was done by Shino Shimoji. What Alphen and Shionne have between them actually makes a good combo. One fella cannot feel pain, the other fella causes pain.
The art director for Tales of Arise is Minoru Iwamoto who is a longtime ” Tales of” team artist. He is in charge of both character designs and art in the game. And I have to say the game really does look pretty awesome compared to the previous “Tales of” titles.
There is also this new element called Astral energy which resides in everything and the magic that uses it is called Astral Artes. Renans possesses the knowledge to harness Astral Energy and to wield Astral Artes. When this happens, their eyes glow blue. Shionne who happens to be a Renan does exactly that and she has the power to use Healing Artes. This will come in handy whenever Alphen wields the Torch Flame Sword which is a manifestation of astral energy. Even though Alphen does not feel pain, however he is not immortal so he can’t use the Torch Flame Sword for too long, else he suffers damaging effects from the flame sword. This is another reason why Alphen and Shionne make a good combo cause when Alphen get hurt, Shionne can heal his burns. Thus, the relationship between these two changes the fate of the two planets.
The release date for Tales of Arise has not been revealed yet but all we know that it will be out next year.
