The Iterative Collective today announced that its anticipated first-person atmospheric horror puzzle game “Scarred” will be available as a playable demo during Steam Next Fest this February, ahead of its new release date on April 17, 2025.
The release date adjustment from March 6 to April 17 reflects the studio’s commitment to delivering a polished, immersive horror experience that pushes the boundaries of psychological storytelling. This additional development time will be dedicated to enhancing the game’s signature features, including its innovative puzzle mechanics and atmospheric rendering of a nightmare-twisted Singapore.
“While we’re eager to share Scarred with our community, we believe this short extension will significantly elevate the player experience,” said Matthew, CEO of The Iterative Collective. “We’re excited to offer players an early glimpse of the game through our Steam Next Fest demo, where they can experience firsthand the unique blend of Singaporean horror and psychological storytelling we’ve created.”
The Steam Next Fest demo will showcase the game’s core mechanics, allowing players to:
- Uncover a dark mystery weaving Singaporean folklore with personal tragedy, as fragmented memories reveal the haunting final days of your missing classmate.
- Navigate between present and past as you experience two intertwined timelines, each holding crucial pieces of a story that refuses to stay buried.
- Help a tormented spirit find peace in the world between the living and dead – but beware, your compassion may unleash consequences beyond your control.
