Over the weekend, Kenji Kuroda, a top Street Fighter player was arrested for allegedly committing indecent acts against a high school girl. ANN news reported that Kuroda invited a high school girl to his home in February, where he allegedly started hugging her and committing sexual molestation.
Kenji Kuroda was a Street Fighter III 3rd Strike player and was widely regarded as one of the best players of the game. Kuroda is known for his skills on Q, which is reputed to be the game’s worst character. Kuroda is also a multi Tougeki winner and has sold gameplay DVDs due to his skills in the game.
According to the authorities, this incident was the first time Kuroda met the girl and the two had met via Twitter. The student’s mother reported the incident to the police.
Upon Kuroda’s arrest, the Japanese media reported him to be unemployed. It wasn’t mentioned that Kuroda was a Street Fighter pro player and neither was it mentioned that Kuroda used to write for Weekly Playboy. Weekly Playboy has since removed his posts.
Thus far, Kuroda has confessed to the charges and the police are currently investigating to see if Kuroda has committed other offences.
