Steady lah, Dice. Just when I was getting a little bored, Battlefield V will be adding a new map and it’s called Mercury. The free update will include the new map will be available on 30th May.
Check out the trailer for Mercury.
Judging from the trailer, Mercury does seem to look good and I would definitely love to try it out. Mercury is set in Greece in the Mediterranean and the map is part of Battlefield V’s Chapter 3: Trial By Fire Update. This is based on the events of Operation Mercury in 1941. You get to deploy on the coast of Crete where the British take on the invading German forces.
DICE also mentioned that the gameplay for Mercury is focused on “verticality, all-out war, and asymmetrical vehicle forces.” The British will have tanks and the Germans will have planes.
“Due to the size and verticality of the map, tempo will vary. Find holes in the defense to flank or engage in a hot firefight around one of the flags. There’s a place in the map for SMGs to clash with shotguns, while Recon players can snipe at Support players, who in turn suppress enemies with their LMGs.” – DICE
Got to give it to DICE for Battlefield V for their constant free updates and new maps and this is just after BFV’s own version of Battle Royale mode called Firestorm.
Battlefield V is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
