Set in 1899, Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place 12 years before Red Dead Redemption. It is a time where the Wild West era is ending, with lawmen hunting down the remaining outlaw gangs. It is time to surrender, or die.
The trailer shows Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang, fleeing due to a robbery gone wrong. Running from the town of Blackwater, Arthur needs to rob, steal and fight to survive as he travels across America together with the gang.
When faced with internal divisions within the gang, Arthur needs to make a choice between his allegiance to the gang or his own ideals.
