We talked about how Fortnite‘s Season 5 is arriving soon and how there’s fractures in the sky. But Fortnite Season 5’s lead-up is escalating. The rifts have been doing more than just appearing as cracks in the sky. Epic Games’ marketing team should deserve a clap on the back and a raise for how interesting things have been developing.
The Missing Things
All the things are missing. Okay, I exaggerate. But things have been vanishing off Fortnite‘s map. New rifts having been appearing daily and the objects they surround seem to vanish live in-game the next day. Uncle Pete’s Pizza in Tomato Town is gone. The sign of the Noms supermarket in Retail Row is gone as well. Just where are all these things disappearing off to sia?
The Case of the Appearing Anchor
Not only are things disappear, things are appearing too. It looks like an anchor has appeared out of nowhere in-game. The anchor is one of the first objects to appear, turning up outside Snobby Shores on the western part of Fortnite‘s map. What does this mean? That the water is going to rise? Are we going to see Fortnite covered in water? Who knows?
The Mystery of the Real Life Burger
Not only have things appeared in-game, Epic Games has taken their marketing one step further and have things appear in real life as well. The Durr Burger mascot had been swallowed by one of the rifts and spat out in the desert. That’s some crazy dedication by Epic Games to promote Fornite‘s Season 5. Does this mean we will get more things appearing in real life as well? Quite cool eh.
It definitely seems like Fortnite‘s Season 5 has something to do inter-dimensional travel. Maybe there will be some kind of wonky crossover event. Looks like we will have to see what else Epic Games have in store. What we do know for sure is that Epic Games’ marketing has been pretty on point.
