Red Bull Conquest held its team-based fighting game competition in Washington, D.C. this past weekend. Competitors of Street Fighter V, Tekken 7 and Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 fought it out to see who is the strongest. Wah but Victor “Punk” Woodley, who placed second at Evo 2017, styled on his Grand Final opponent, by picking his opponent’s character.
Punk’s opponent, Alan “Nephew” Sun isn’t a weak player hor. Nephew is a strong player who mainly plays Kolin. On the other hand, Punk’s main has always been Karin. So during the Grand Finals, when Punk pulled out Kolin, Punk was grinning from ear to ear.
The matches weren’t a clean sweep, with Nephew giving Punk a hard time. However, Punk stuck in there, maybe having something to prove after picking Kolin. At the end of the day, Punk was able to beat Nephew, securing Street Fighter V for New York City.
