To be clear, Red Dead Online hasn’t been fully launched yet. The beta is currently available only for Red Dead Redemption 2 Ultimate Edition owners. Don’t worry ah. Rockstar Games plans to open up the beta to all gamers as well. Here’s the timeline:
- 28 November: Anyone who played Red Dead Redemption 2 on 26 October.
- 29 November: Anyone who played Red Dead Redemption 2 between 26 October to 29 October
- 30 November: All owners of Red Dead Redemption 2.
If you’re not sure if you can access Red Dead Online, just check the companion app on iOS or Android to see if you can start playing.
The world of Red Dead Online is continually expanding, with Rockstar promising some additions and updates through the Beta period. Currently, players can ride with friends in a Posse, set up Camp and embark on coop missions or fight it out in competitive series. Players can even find strangers to help (or hurt heh), tackle Free Roam challenges, hunt, fish, bond with your horse or just explore the West with your friends. Pretty much the ideal multiplayer game hor?
While playing, players will accumulate XP. This adds to the player’s rank and provides bonuses. Players can also take on Award challenges to earn Awards in categories like combat, hunting, sharpshooter and survivalist.
Red Dead Online begins with creating and customizing your character as they leave Sisika Penitentiary. The people in the world of Red Dead Online will react differently to you based on how you act. Depending on your choices, the Honour system will cause certain missions to reveal themselves.
Sounds damn fun sia. Red Dead Redemption 2 sounds super tempting to be purchased right now. With multiplayer being added, it sounds like the game is shaping up to be even better than before. Swee la.
