Valve give up liao. Specifically, Valve gives up responsibility on its Steam store.
Valve has released a blog post making it clear that they don’t really care about the content that is on their store. The company also doesn’t want to shoulder the responsibility of what is being sold through Steam. Now, anyone can sell their game on Steam. There are just a few tiny exceptions.
According to the Valve’s blog post,
… We’ve decided that the right approach is to allow everything onto the Steam Store, except for things that we decide are illegal, or straight up trolling. Taking this approach allows us to focus less on trying to police what should be on Steam, and more on building those tools to give people control over what kinds of content they see.
Take note of the wording here. Valve decides what is illegal. Not the law or the courts. That allows Valve to wash their hands off handling most of the responsibility but still be able to step in when they need to be. Looks like Valve is still the king after all hor?
