About a month ago, the developers of Just Cause announced Generation Zero. The game where it looks like Horizon Dawn meets PUBG. One of the several new titles announced by Avalanche Studios, game director Emil Kraftling told Polygon that his newest project evolved out of the company’s work on another, lesser known series called The Hunter. Take a look at Generation Zero‘s stealth mechanics.
The Hunter is currently available on Steam and was first released as a free-to-play game in 2009. The game allows players to hunt exotic game together in a number of unusual locations based off real-world environments. What stood out most about the game was its complex simulation. Not only could animals hear and see the players, they could even smell players on the wind. This led to sneaking up on the animals be incredibly challenging. Siao liao, must use more brainpower to be more stealthy now.
In Generation Zero, those stealth mechanics are being applied to a high-stakes guerilla-style engagement between up to four players and a mysterious type of killer robot. The enemies will have a new and sophisticated suite of senses that players will have to figure out on the go while playing.
Kraftling also mentioned that the final game will include inventory items and environmental effects that players will be able to use against the robots. It looks like Generation Zero is building up to be an interesting game with its complex interaction between player and robots. Confirm need to save and reload a lot just to play the game sia.
Generation Zero is slated to be released in 2019 on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.
