A few months ago we talked about the Monster Hunter live-action film. And it looks like we have photos that show what the movie will look like. Keep in mind that the movie blends the franchise with a modern-day twist.
Here’s a photo of Jovovich as Natalie Artemis, the movie’s heroine. Next to her is Tony Jaal playing the Hunter. Not only do we see the actual costumes, we see the official weapons as well. That big ass jaw blade looks pretty intimidating. Not too bad hor? Almost look like the real thing.
Alongside the main heroine, we can see that the film really puts an emphasis on a modern-day military style. This is quite worrying for the fans as it may seem that the movie is deviating from the original Monster Hunter idea.
Thankfully, there is an official synopsis for the film;
Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back.
This clears up why there is a mixture of the modern-day together with the traditional Monster Hunter garb. Will it actually be a success? Hopefully so ah, I don’t mind watching Hunters bring down a Rathalos while swinging through the air.
