Boyhood’s End, the episodic sci-fi puzzle-filled horror adventure published by Alliance Arts and co-developed by both WSS Playground and buriki clock, defies space and humanity on PC via Steam Early Access today.
Travel to a distant future where dystopian AI overlord “R. Karellen” assigns humanity scores, determining academic performance, future career, food choices, and even romantic partners. Giovanni, an unfortunate soul with the lowest scores across the human race, faces relentless bullying from his classmates as a result. But when Campanella, a quick-witted upperclassman, whisks him away on a road trip across the galaxy, things begin looking up for Giovanni.
Hop aboard a driverless train and reach the Crimson Southern Cross, located at the farthest edge of the universe. Meet history’s greatest leaders, pull pesky pranks on them, and solve complex puzzles among the stars. When Giovanni isn’t dusting off his coding skills in pursuit of suspicious side gigs, discover how Campanella’s thrill-seeking antics earned him the highest scores among his peers.
Discover what it means to be human as Giovanni and Campanella travel across landscapes brought to life by vibrant pixel art and hand-crafted animated cutscenes. On a journey where different destinations host primitive and advanced technologies, will the duo return to their AI-controlled reality or extend their last shred of childhood?
“When making “Boyhood’s End”, I wanted to tell the story of survival,” said Shiori Tobita, Director/Scenario Writer at buriki clock. “I hope that Giovanni’s journey will help others to live and survive through hardships as they begin their journey in early access.”
The first chapter of Boyhood’s End arrives on PC via Steam Early Access today for $10.99 with language and subtitle options in English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
