Red Candle Games, the studio behind Detention has announced horror game Devotion, set in 1980s Taiwan. Platforms and the release date were not announced. Mati liao, time to make myself scared for no reason.
Devotion revolves around a seemingly ordinary family of three that once lived in an old apartment building. Players will be tasked with exploring the family’s residence where religion played a significant role in their daily lives. Level one of creepiness achieved already sia. Once filled with love and joy, it has become a haunted and confined space where each puzzle will lead the players closer to the mysteries hidden within.
While the game’s teaser trailer hasn’t shown much, the developer did mention that players can expect an immersive playing experience. A realistic art style will be featured and it reconstructs 1980s Taiwanese lifestyle and atmospheric sound design inspired by local folk culture.
