The Day I Became A Bird is a really cute game that is developed by Hyper Luminal Games and published by Numskull Games. You play the character called Frank who is a young quiet kid. He has his first crush on Sylvia who likes birds a lot. This cute game for children which goes through playgrounds, classrooms and imaginary places as Frank goes navigates his journey about love, being shy and self expression. All this is done by exploring, collecting stuff and some light puzzle games.
The Day I Became A Bird is based on a storybook written by Ingrid Chabbert and illustrated by Guridi. The game blends visuals with some light interaction and is designed to be fun and friendly for players for all ages but I feel its best for children.
PASSION Animation who does the hand crafted illustrated animation with a narration filled adventure interactive game by Hyper Luminal Games focuses on movement and mood rather than traditional game mechanics.
“The heart of this project was always about capturing what love feels like before you really have the words for it,” said Andrew Ruhemann, founder and CEO at PASSION Animation. “We wanted to create something that feels like a picture book you can step inside, where small moments and quiet feelings matter just as much as big story beats.”
“When I first imagined Frank’s story, it was always about that very small, very brave feeling of wanting to be seen by someone you really care about,” said Chabbert. “Seeing it take flight as a game has been incredibly moving. It allows players not just to read about those emotions, but to step inside them – to feel the tenderness, the awkwardness, and the quiet courage of first love in a completely new way.”
